How Webinars Will Work in 2011

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011

All webinars this year are pre-recorded. The scheduled date for a webinar is simply the date on which we will post the webinar to our website—webinars will be posted by 9am on the release date. Members do not need to register or take any other special steps, they just need to login to LBS with their LBS membership, and they can watch at any time, just as with any other training video.

Webinars will always be released on Wednesdays. Members then have 3 days, until the end of business Friday, to post questions directly to the webinar trainer from our website. We’ll provide question instructions with the webinar release email as well, but here’s a brief look. Below the video on the webinar page, there will be an Ask an LBS Expert box like the one pictured:

Members can type questions and submit them as they watch the webinar—submitting a question will not interrupt the video. On the following Monday, the trainer will answer all the questions in a forum created just for that webinar, and when the answers are finished, we’ll send around the link to the forum.

LBS relaunches website, tweaks delivery

Friday, January 14th, 2011

LocalBroadcastSales.com launched their new website Thursday, along with a new structure to training on-demand and webinars.

The site is designed to make better use of all of Local Broadcast Sales’ features.  Additions to the site include a brainstorm forum where you can share your sales ideas and start a conversation with the entire LBS community. Ask an LBS Expert, which allows you to submit your sales questions directly to an LBS expert.  And lastly, a new look and feel to the website.

On-demand training also looks a bit different in 2011 with all of the training videos separated into five categories:  new hires, managers, radio, television and digital.

Webinars will no longer by “live” but immediately available at the time of release.  The first webinar of the year will be on January 19th for “new hires.”  Paul Weyland will present “New to Radio Sales? 5 Most Important Keys to Selling Radio.”

Lastly, for those who get “forgetful,” Local Broadcast Sales offers and option for email reminders about webinars, sales training and sales ideas.  Simply log into your account and click the “Sign up for LBS Sales Reminders” button.
